The beaches of Dénia, safer than ever this summer

August 13 from 2018 - 11: 37

With more than 20 kilometers of beaches, Dénia is a paradise for bathers who enjoy them every summer. Sand or rock, coves or accessible beaches: the Dianense coast leaves no one indifferent.

But that natural paradise enjoyed by the city would not be so attractive without the services they offer, which seek above all the safety of the users of the beaches. That is why the City of Dénia has made for this season an important commitment to safety on its beaches, ranging from the increase of first aid posts to the improvement of the beaconing of the waters.

Lifesaving

Councilman beaches, Óscar Mengual, has pointed out that in terms of rescue and first aid, new specifications were drawn up in 2016 in which the chairs and first aid locations on the beaches of Les Rotes y Les Deveses.

To these new conditions, which are still valid today, it should be noted that since this summer of 2018 the contract for the rescue and first aid service is again in charge of the Red Cross. In this sense, since the council of beaches have congratulated the Red Cross team for the great professionalism shown since the zero minute of summer, highlighting the good feelings and comments that are receiving from the bathers of the service they are providing.

Beaconing

The safety of the beaches also involves a correct marking of the water that distinguishes the space reserved for boats from the space reserved for bathers.

That is why since the council of beaches have been marked new spaces this summer. Thus, after discussions with the department of Costas, it was agreed to mark the area of El Trampolí and Les Arenetes in Les Rotes, very crowded areas of both bathers and sportsmen and boats that have now increased the safety of the bathroom.

Accessible bathroom

The beaches of Dénia have more services this year for bathing adapted for people with reduced mobility. To the existing points in the Punta del Raset and in the Marineta Cassiana another one is added, also in the Marineta, created thanks to Turisme Comunitat Valenciana.

Thus, people with reduced mobility can enjoy the beach thanks to the new facilities and also thanks to the Red Cross volunteers, who collaborate in a disinterested way with the service this summer.

Chiringuitos, hammocks and new footbaths

After the problem with the bids for the services of beach bars and hammocks this summer, which forced to delay the tenders, there are already five of six beach bars in progress and most hammock services offer service.

From the council of beaches they emphasize that next year, each chiringuito and positions of hammocks will be mounted in the corresponding date, since the new concessions released this year will be effective in the next three summers.

In addition, the number of footbaths on the beaches of Punta has also increased. Molins and Les Deveses, where they had not been since 2009. It has been a performance managed directly by the councilor for beaches, Óscar Mengual, with the Agència Valenciana del Turisme, who took full charge of the performance.

You have to go to the end of the beaches (Deveses - Els Racons), to check that the accesses to the beach are still "PRIVATE" and that the City Council has given 200 m of beach to a Kite Surf school, preventing the enjoyment of the remains of citizens.

Is it necessary to establish a channel of such magnitude for the exit and entry of Tables, when the Law indicates that it is only for that purpose and that the navigation must be done more than 200m from the shore?

Practitioners of this sport come, practice and leave, without leaving a single Euro in Denia.

Those of us who pay our taxes spend our money in Denia we have fewer rights than others.

  2. Isabel says:

It is very good to put and fix things but it would also be good that the entrance to the beach in front of Federico, the wood that there could be longer, also enter people and strollers because not all of us enter or live in the entrance where is the Red Cross.

  3. Paloma says:

All that is very good but… .. What about cleaning? How is it possible that in the middle of the first half of August the beach of Las Marinas between km 1 and 2 is full of algae one day and the next ???

  4. Carl says:

As a Swedish tourist with an apartment close to El Palmar since last summer, I'm very impressed by the way you handle the beaches. Thank you for that! If I could wish something, a «promenad» by the beach into Denia city would be really nice ...
