The regeneration of Marineta Beach Cassiana, the points affected by erosion in the strip between the port of Dénia and the Girona river and the beach of the Deveses have been treated this Monday morning at the Ministry of the Environment.
So far the mayor has moved, Vicent Grimalt, the councilor of Beach, Óscar Mengual and the municipal technician of Environment, José Antonio Martínez, who have been able to talk to the Assistant Director-General for the Protection of the Coast of the Ministry of the Environment, Ángel Muñoz Cubillo, to learn first hand the status of the regeneration projects of the beaches of the municipality.
Dénia is included in one of the four serious erosion zones in Spain, on which the Ministry will prioritize its actions, and the projects are already underway. Specifically, and as reported by the deputy general manager, the drafting of the regeneration projects of the Marineta Cassiana and the port to the Girona river has already been awarded, whose processing has estimated in a few 18 months, since they require environmental processing. Regarding the regeneration of Les Deveses beach, the tender for the drafting of the project has already been published and it has yet to be awarded. Muñoz Cubillo has committed to transfer to the Generalitat Valenciana and the Ajuntament de Dénia all the information about the projects when the time comes for the presentation of allegations.
In the meeting held in Madrid it has been agreed to hold a new follow-up meeting within six months, since, as the mayor has pointed out, "for us the regeneration of beaches is a top priority".
