The PP of Dénia rejects the tourist tax that the Consell wants to implant in the Comunitat Valenciana

The spokesperson and councilor of the Party Denia, María Mut, has announced that his party will present a motion to the plenary session next Thursday rejecting the tourist tax that the Consell that he presides over Ximo Puig wants to implement in the Valencian Community.

Mut, accompanied by the councilors Isabel Gallego y Pepa Sivera, has explained this motion can generate "unfavorable effects for tourism", a sector that has shown its "strong opposition to it". That is why we urge the Consell to agree with the tourism sector all the decisions that in this area are adopted in the future and that the Consell de Turisme "so that within the same one all the problematic raised by the possible implantation of the tourist rate in the Community is approached".

According to the popular ones, this rate would cause "discrimination for regulated places, favoring intrusion into irregular accommodation", and "difficulties to impact, especially in the first year, the customer rate, since many places are hired in advance by tour operators".

It should be recalled that since the Consell have announced that the implementation of the tourist tax would mean an increase in collection between 30 and 40 million euros, and would serve to offset the environmental damage that tourism generates in the Comunitat.
