The government team of the Dénia City Council (PSPV-Compromís) will urgently present in the plenary session this afternoon a motion urging the Generalitat Valenciana to stop the repeal of part of the legislative body that the previous Botànic government enacted "to recover the lost dignity and recover the reputational credit of the Valencian Country and their municipalities.
Specifically, the Generalitat is requested to continue with the development of the laws on Multilingualism, Historical Memory, the fight against fraud, Valencian public television and Transparency and Good Government, in order to stop "what is an unprecedented democratic regression in the Generalitat Valenciana.
In a press release, the Dianense government has stated that "8 years ago, Valencian citizens spoke out forcefully against the practices that had characterized the Generalitat Valenciana in the years prior to 2015."
«Citizens tired of the information manipulation of Channel 9, the cuts in education, the linguistic regression and the discouragement of Valencian, and, especially, the systemic corruption in the Valencian administrations, led to a political change in the Generalitat Valenciana, the provincial councils and the town councils," they declare.
The text highlights the mobilization of Valencians, "filling squares and streets raising their voices against the unsustainable reputational situation to which the government of the Generalitat Valenciana had brought the territory."

The recently formed coalition government of PP and VOX has decided to "dynamite part of the legislative body of the Generalitat Valenciana, creating a new legislative base of permissiveness and impunity for the corrupt practices that stained the image of Valencians until 2015," they say, with the idea of repealing the Multilingualism laws, Democratic Memory, to recover Valencian Public Radio and Television, the Transparency Law and the Anti-Fraud Law.
