The Plaza del Consell de Dénia has always been a meeting point for Dianenses and visitors because it is located in the heart of the city, very close to the town hall. Located at the foot of the city Castle, Plaza del Consell was born with the intention of simulating a Roman forum and its ancient design, with orange square bricks, will be remembered for many generations.
Characterized by its steps, the Plaza del Consell de Dénia has well become a meeting point, ideal for cultural and festive shows that especially in summer, thousands of people gather every act instead.
Plaza del Consell de Denia is located in Calle la Mar, junction with Calle Diana, and adjoins the Constitution Square, where the Town Hall is Dianense.
In 2008, after receiving the city the grant of European FEDER funds, the council brought to contest the new design of the square, just as the Constitution Square and Castle tunnel, and it was the design studio architectural Pepe Cabrera who recultó the winner.
In 2010, and after many months of work, Dénia inaugurated the new, wider and earth tones, which remained the bleachers square, although it went from a parallel to a more attractive asymmetrical stands.

The new Plaza del Consell de Dénia continues to host some of the most important events of culture and festivals in Dénia, like many events of the week Moors and Christians in honor of Sant Roc. It is here where every year the people of Dian enjoy the proclamation and delivery of keys that opens the week of festivities and from where the children's parade and the informal tricks included in the program also start.
Furthermore, in the month of September, the Plaza del Consell hosts the Dénia International Folkloric Dance Show, which for 4 nights brings to the capital of the Marina Alta dance groups from all over the world that delight the spectators who come very early to have a place.
