El PSPV-PSOE A medium-term objective has been set for Dénia to have a university campus similar to those already existing in municipalities such as Alcoy or Gandía. This morning, the current mayor and candidate for reelection, Vicent Grimatl, has assured that they already have the commitment of the President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, and the interest and support of the rector of the University of Alicante, Manuel Palomar.
The Socialists have recalled that throughout this term the first stone for this project has been laid with relations with the University of Alicante and the implementation of the degree of Gastronomy in Dénia. Grimalt has recognized that "the region of the Marina Alta You need to have a university offer in Dénia".
As an example, the socialists have explained that the Alcoy campus, with 2.000 students, generates an average annual economic impact of 31.000.000 euros. According to the Socialists, the university campus of Dénia would generate jobs and guarantee occupation throughout the course in Dénia.
Despite being a medium-term project, since the PSPV-PSOE have already analyzed the place where the campus would be built, although they recognize that, with the current urban law, any land can be allocated to this endowment.
As for the degrees that would be implemented, the Socialists are committed to the Humanities, studies related to the sea and tourism.
