The remuneration of the councilors of Dénia will be maintained, but the number of released increases

20 June 2023 - 15: 26

The Dénia City Council will hold next Friday the plenary session at the beginning of the corporate mandate in which it will be informed about the mayoral decrees on the appointment of general and special delegate councilors, members of the governing board, frequency of sessions, creation of information commissions and the relationship of councilors with exclusive dedication and eventual staff. For this reason, the government team has informed the spokespersons of the municipal groups today about the proposals that will be presented in plenary session on Friday, June 23.

Regarding the first point, the Plenary will be held in ordinary session at least once a month, on the last Thursday, at 19:00 p.m. The Local Government Board will meet weekly, on Wednesdays, at 13:00 p.m. And each informative commission will meet monthly, the week before the celebration of the ordinary plenary session.

The following will be created:

  • Informative Commission on Equality and Inclusive Policies, the Elderly and Education.
  • Informative Committee on Culture and Festivals.
  • Informative Commission of Economic Promotion.
  • Public Safety Information Commission.
  • Informative Commission of Territory and Transition.
  • Information Commission on Youth, Sports, Public Health, Housing and Normalization.
  • Informative Commission of the Treasury and accounts.

The spokespersons of each political group with municipal representation will designate the councilor or councilors who will form part of each of the commissions, with the following proportion:

They will carry out the position with exclusive, total or partial dedication, the councilors responsible for the following delegations:

  • Town hall.
  • Territory and urban quality.
  • Economic promotion.
  • Ecological transition.
  • Culture and Festivals.
  • Citizen security.
  • Inclusive policies.
  • Treasury and Personnel (80% partial).
  • Youth and Sports (partial to 50%).

In the case of the compensation to be received by the councilors not released for attending the sessions of the collegiate bodies, it is:

  • €250 per plenary session (extraordinary calls are not charged).
  • €250 Governing Board.
  • €240 for information commission.
  • €80 for attendance at unregulated councils.

The quantities mentioned have the following limitations:

  • €2.000 per month per councilor, if they are part of the Governing Board.
  • €1.500 for those who have a delegation but are not on the Board.
  • €1.100 spokesperson councillors.
  • €1.000 for the rest.

The plenary session on Friday will not increase the salaries of the councilors, although the number of released councilors increases. As explained by the councilor for finance, Paco Roselló, “the total cost of spending on government bodies only exceeds 3% of the rise in the CPI from 2019 to 2023 if we had updated it, which we have not done”.

Temporary support staff for government action and assignment for the task of supervising the opposition

Regarding the relationship of temporary personnel, dependent on the Mayor's Office, there will be seven support posts for the task of government and for the political groups that assume it, according to the limits of the current local law. The denominations of the temporary personnel will be: head of the Cabinet of the Mayor, deputy of the Mayor, coordination of the government team, management of social networks and coordination of the PSPV-PSOE group, coordination of the Compromís group and coordination of a special sewerage delegation.

The opposition political groups without government responsibilities, Partido Popular and Vox, are assigned an economic amount proportional to their representation in the city council so that they can face expenses derived from their task of monitoring the municipal government: €22.200 per year for the municipal group of the PP and €11.400 for that of Vox.

Groups with delegations, and therefore with eventual support staff, will waive this contribution.

Mare meua, how is the yard.
They have it very well set up, as I have seen painted somewhere: Denia Taxes, Kenya Services.

  2. NeighborMarines says:

This is a mockery and a shame

A mockery and a total lack of respect for the citizens who voted for them and those who did not. The first thing is to mark your salary and your "work", have you thought about how many of these people do not even earn 1/3 of those salaries working like beasts 10 hours a day to support their families? Have you thought that part of that effort goes to paying taxes so that you can live like kings working just enough? THIS IS A FULL RULE MOCKERY

A total Shame, when an entire country is making efforts to reduce expenses and taxes so that the ordinary citizen pays less to the institutions and has the possibility of reaching the end of the month? YOURS IS GUARD COURT.

A lot of blah blah and they don't give a damn about anything other than insuring their beach bar for 4 years, don't come with more nonsense, lies and deceit.

  3. Pauk says:

Those salaries and so much staff are excessive for the management of 42000 inhabitants, so the ibi that is paid so excessively is normal. Those salaries with half are left over and the rest that goes to clean up the marinas that do not even have sidewalks, roads that you put the bike wheel in and you fly away, lack of general piping for neighbors to connect sewerage, abandoned farms full of weeds, no bike lane and the one that is destroyed, lack of health center, a filthy police station, and so on without end of atrocities. What a shame Denia

  4. Andrea says:

I think it would be good to comment that the salary of the government of the Denia town hall will only be for councilors and mayor of:
    2 Million Euros.

That without counting the plenary sessions of those not released.

53.000 Eur of mayor salary is 3.140 Eur month year
50.000 Eur councilor salary is 2.983 Eur month year

I would like to request the signing of 8 hours working for each of them in order to justify those salaries.

  5. do not censor says:

Vicent Grimalt = €53.000 per year.

It seems to me a lack of respect and a mockery, that he pockets €200.000 per legislature. This has to end. Enough of robbing us. A lot of Spain ens steals. But the only ones who steal from us are you, and you are not willing to give up a penny, because you cling to power and suck from the boat in such a way as not to give a stick to the water. On top of that they are of dubious utility, if not directly useless.

  6. Bernard says:

What a waste of tax payers money and 4 more years disaster!
