Manuel Soler managed to put together one of the largest collections of wood in the world in Dénia. At the end of 2021 he passed away and his xiloteca faced an uncertain future, with the constant threat of falling into oblivion after failing to achieve the relief of public administrations that he dreamed of. However, part of this witness was collected by Miguel Ángel Santacruz, who came across his story and turned it into a documentary that can now be enjoyed at the Botànic de València.
Last August the documentary was presented for the first time in Dénia a sea of woods. It is a work with which Santacruz echoes the collector's legacy, but also manages to perfectly reflect Soler's most adventurous side. He was able to record one of the last conversations with the sailor, in which they talk about much more than wood.
