The Fira of the Paraula and the Bona Taula attracts to the District of the Christ of Ondara to hundreds of people in search of culture, leisure and gastronomy

The third edition of the Fira de la Paraula & la Bona Taula has consolidated the Barrio del Cristo de Ondara as the epicenter of culture, leisure and good gastronomy during the month of May.

Last weekend, 12 and 13 in May, there were hundreds of people from all over the region who came there to enjoy the many activities for the whole family organized by the Councils of Economic Promotion and Culture of the City of Ondara, with the collaboration of the Macma and the Festeros del Cristo 2018.

Activities for all ages

The proposal, which has been developed during Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 May with good weather to enjoy the activities outdoors, has included gastronomy by the Festeros del Cristo 2018 (who have offered products at their stand local and typical food of the Marina Alta), the Fira de la Paraula (with local and regional publishers and writers), the Land and Crafts Market, animation, outstanding concerts (Tardor, Nuc, Sergi Contrí, Thinking Brass, The Swing Machine), theater , dancing, and activities for children (workshops, storytelling, shows, inflatables...).

Local authorities visited the fair on Saturday afternoon. The Mayor of Ondara, José Ramiro, positively valued the celebration of the III Fira of the Paraula i la Bona Taula, which "He has achieved his goal of revitalizing the activity in the Barrio del Cristo again with a proposal that has combined culture, music, proximity, gastronomy, and animation".

The Councilor for Culture, Raquel Mengual, has highlighted the high attendance of families in the activities programmed for the youngest, and has taken the opportunity to thank the Rondalla of the Grup de Danses de Pedreguer for the children of the School Sanchis Gaurner, to the Municipal School of Teatre d'Ondara, to the students of the course of Dances of the World of Ondara, and to the musical coordinator of Saturday, Toni Miralles.

Important involvement of different groups

This year 2018 has highlighted the introduction of local collectives such as the Festeros del Cristo and the students of the Sanchis Guarner School (which participated in the performance of the rondalla of the Grup de Danses de Pedreguer) and the IES Xebic (whose students participated in the literary contest whose awards ceremony began on Friday at the Fair).

The involvement and participation of the Crist 2018 Festeros in the III Fira of the Paraula i la Bona Taula was reflected in the success of the food service, with quality gastronomic proposals on the street, with local and regional products; In addition to the bar service.

The Fair has had several concerts, with the open-air performances of the singer-songwriter and musician of Dénia Sergi Contrí; from the Safor group of indie-rock, Walnut; and with the great performance of Tardor (one of the references of the Valencian indie). Thinking Brass (second prize of the II National Competition of Quintets of Metall "Ondaralvent") acted on Sunday, day that was closed with the fabulous interpretation of The Swing Machine and the colorful dances.

There was also theater, with the interpretation of the Municipal School of Theater of Ondara (they offered a great work of mime); children's shows, with Astronauts llunàtics by David Spectacles and Marcel to the Mediterrània; music and popular traditions with the Rondalla del Grup de Danses de Pedreguer; and tells stories with Manel Arcos.

Fira de la Paraula

La Fira de la Paraula, organized with the collaboration of the Macma, counted on the exhibition of stands; with the participation of local and regional writers and writers. A showcase of authors and publishers was offered, with editorials such as dilating minds (from Ondara), or Edicions del Sud (Manel Arcos) as well as other publishers and distributors of the Valencian territory. On the other hand, the Land and Handicraft Market offered local, agricultural and artisan products.

It is also worth noting the involvement of the students in this third edition of the Fair, given that at the presentation of the event, last Friday, the prizes of the III Literary Contest of the IES Xebic in the House of Culture.
