The Mayor's Council of the Dénia City Council organized yesterday, Wednesday, February 14, a dance masterclass for couples over 60 years old. On time for the event that took place at 19:00 p.m. in the Leisure room of the Social Center, more than 70 people came to enjoy a wonderful afternoon to celebrate Valentine's Day.
About twenty couples signed up for the specialized class, which was taught by Patricia de Juan, teacher of the Senior Classroom Dance workshop. Patricia de Juan taught the basic steps of pasodoble, cha-chachá, merengue, bachata and salsa, and the rhythm of the music made the most willing people dance from the first moment, who gave their all for more than an hour. and a half.
The party managed to encourage the group of older people, who, bursting with energy and joy, had a pleasant and fun time. For people who did not dare to dance, the evening constituted a space for meeting and consolidating interpersonal relationships. Once the activity was over, a raffle was held, in which fourteen couples signed up, for a dinner for two people, at the Café Bar Nou Plaça.
For the mayor's councilor, Marta Gasco, the activity was a great success, it was a fantastic afternoon, where seniors spent a wonderful evening celebrating Valentine's Day. "Dancing is perhaps one of the best therapies to increase physical activity in older people, since it is an easy activity and, above all, very fun," Gascó highlighted.
