The winery Les Freses, located in Jesús Pobre, received this Thursday afternoon the Gold Medal for Best Moscatel 2018 Wine awarded by the Provincial Association of Sommeliers of Alicante (ASPA).
This is the first edition of a new contest that has had a jury chaired by the Rector of the Miguel Hernández University, Juanjo Ruiz Martinez and thirty independent professionals coordinated and trained by the Provincial Association of Sommeliers.
In total, some 142 references near 20 wineries have participated and they have resulted 28 Gold Medals, 38 Silver and Bronze and the rest in Special Mentions. All grouped for the different categories of wines, from whites, muscatel whites, reds from young and aged, rosés, sweet or liqueur wines and of course the Fondillones.
The award ceremony was conducted by Mónica Espigares and had the collaboration of the critic and member of the jury Toni Pérez Marco. Among the institutions, the Regional Secretary for Agriculture, Francisco Rodríguez Mulero, and the Vice President of the Alicante Provincial Council, Carlos Castle.
