Juanito Oyarzábal will take the Montgó to celebrate the Day of Mountains

Dénia is becoming an international benchmark in the celebration of International Mountain Day. The anniversary is commemorated on Tuesday, December 11, and to celebrate it in a big way, Local Agenda 21 has launched numerous events that will unite the Montgo to many other mountains in the rest of the country.

With the support of FAO, the Council of Barcelona, ​​the Generalitat Valenciana, the Generalitat of Catalonia, the Balearic Government and the Provincial Council of Alicante, the team has managed to globalize Agenda 21 celebrating this day.

The celebrations began on Sunday with an open house on the seafront Marina de Denia organized by the Radio Club Montgó. The December 5, naturalist, writer and journalist Joaquín Araújo will give a lecture on Municipal House of Culture from the 20 hours.

One of the main events of the celebration of Mountain Day will be on Sunday December 9 when organized a guided tour to the top of creueta Montgó to 70 people who have a participant exception, Juanito Oyarzábal. Basque mountaineer, one of six climbers in the world that has managed to reach the top of the fourteen mountains over eight thousand meters, will give a talk that afternoon, at 18.30 pm in the Social Center. Once at the top of Montgó, it will connect with different Spanish mountains as the Garraf Natural Park in Catalonia.

On Tuesday 11 of December will take place in the town hall the celebration of an institutional act.
