End the days of recovery dunes at the mouth of the river Alberca

Tuesday, and after eleven days of planting, the conference ending in Dénia recovery dunes at the mouth of the river Alberca carried out by more than sa 300 6º students of the Marist Primary schools, Paidos, Llebeig, Carmelitas, Pou de la Montaña, Vessanes, Cervantes and Raquel Payá.

Since 31 began last January, the students have planted about 800 specimens of grasses and tamarinds, typical species of the dune ecosystem in the river desembicadura.

Before each outing, the students received a talk with an audiovisual projection in which they were explained about the recovery of the dunes, the importance of posidonia and the benefits of trees in general, and then they followed a 3-kilometre itinerary along the greenway and the path of the Alberca river in which they received explanations about the agricultural landscape, the greenways, riverside flora and fauna.

Upon arriving to class after planting day they completed a map with your route in which the main elements pointed visited.

This activity was framed in the celebrations of the Arbor Day, which had as a culmination the planting of trees in the green area of ​​the Llaüt de Marines last Sunday, in which a total of twenty-nine specimens of carob, stone pine, fig, olive and pomegranate were planted.
