They are studying installing a mobile ITV in Dénia to avoid saturation of appointments

January 26 from 2024 - 09: 46

Last Thursday the vice mayor of Dénia, Rafa Carrió, announced in plenary session the possibility of opening a mobile ITV in the municipality in response to the complaints received from citizens and presented by the councilor of Gent of Dénia, mario vidal, about the saturation of Ondara's ITV.

The Councilor for Territory and Urban Planning, Maria Josep Ripoll, declared to Dénia.com that the location of this new service, if approved, would be on the Torrecremada esplanade. In this way, it would join the rest of the mobile stations that are active in the province of Alacant: Calp, El Campello, Santa Pola, Ibi and Castalla (according to data from the Valencian ITV Society, SITVAL).

This would avoid long waiting periods to access a vehicle inspection, since, if a citizen tries to make an appointment today on the SITVAL website, all days appear reserved from January to March, without the possibility of selecting another month. later.

The origin of the lack of appointments

According to what was reported to the Dénia City Council, the lack of appointments is due to the fact that the Ondara ITV still does not have the personnel according to the demand for the service in the area. However, they assure that they are working to expand the workforce to solve the many problems that the shortage of appointments is causing.

If the hiring of the aforementioned personnel solved the problem, it is understood that the hypothetical, for the moment, mobile ITV of Dénia would no longer be necessary, moving the entire service back to Ondara.
