After weeks of controversy upon learning of the decision of the Dénia City Council not to assume the rental of the tent for the events this year, Fallas y Moors and Christians, we already know how the Local Board Fallera for its traditional Sopar del Germanor.
Last December, the Dénia City Council announced the decision to cut investments that were made in the two main festivals of Dénia, Fallas and Moors and Christians, who were outside the agreements. The most notorious victim was the tent that the two festive groups use for two evenings during their celebrations, in the case of the Fallas para el Sopar del Germanor. A tent that has a cost of 32.000 euros that is not contemplated in the agreements, according to the council.
The decision, as expected, was not well received by some of the group. In fact, the Fallera Local Board issued a statement a few weeks later to express your discomfort and ask for a reconsideration of your position.
Changes for a Germanor outdoors
This Monday, the Local Board has made public its program for the Dénia Fallas of 2024 and, indeed, its famous Germanor has adapted to a new reality without a tent. It will be held outdoors, but for this purpose the location and time change. It will go from being a Sopar del Germanor to a Dinar del Germanor, as it will be a meal that will be celebrated on Saturday, February 24. And this time it will be on La Via street, in the heart of Dénia, instead of Torrecremada. At the event, the first prizes for the Fallas will also be awarded, as usual.
€32.000, for the partygoers to suck each other like thieves, is not supporting the festivities.
