José Monfort Monserrat, musician and composer of Gata, has made a new gift to Dénia in the form of a piece of music, the work Denia and her castle, a composition of five movements based on different periods of the history of the city that the author investigated in the Municipal Arxiu of Dénia with the help of the archaeologist Josep Ahuir.
According to the author, it is a dedicated work "to the capital of the Marina Alta", a city for which he feels a special affection and attachment and to which he has already dedicated two other compositions: a procession march dedicated to the Sang Santíssima and another in honor of the Mare de Déu dels Desemparats that he dedicated to the Fishermen's Guild. In addition, Monfort is the author of the procession march dedicated to Jesús Pobre.
The author has delivered the scores to the mayor, Vicent GrimaltAs Rafa Carrió, Councilor for Culture, and these have handed them over to the Agrupació Artística Musical de Dénia
