The Castell de Dénia from another perspective: hundreds of people discover the fortification and its history

And it has been a success, since a total of 450 users enjoyed the proposal, which highlighted the visits that showed the Castell from other points of view and that summoned 81% of the audience.

History and restoration projects has summoned 20% of the public who have had the opportunity to approach the castle from a new perspective in which the fortification has prevailed, the walls, on whose walkway it has been possible to walk, and the information on the rehabilitation project in course that will allow access to the castle from the seafront.

The traditional campaign Discover the Castell de Dénia has brought together 44% of users with a visit based on bringing the audience closer to the long history of this ancient fortress.

Finally, the proposal Dénia seen from above. Palaces, museum and winery, which has brought together 17% of the participants, has offered a different perspective of the city as well as an approach to the medieval palace and the Renaissance extension carried out by Lerma, the duke who was the Marquis of Dénia, today the headquarters of the Archaeological Museum of the city. Exclusively, the doors of the palatial cellar have been opened to admire the ceramics present in our homes during the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries.

The visit Dénia and the sea: A story of discoveries has offered an approximation to the building that contains the archaeological and material evidence of the indissoluble link of Dénia with the sea. Between randas and raisins has shown the two sides of the coin: the life of the bourgeoisie between randas and luxury and the agricultural life that, between raisins and scalds, allowed the social and economic rise of the city.

Visit to the excavation of Calle de Loreto

The Municipal Archeology Service called for a visit to the archaeological intervention of the Loreto street, no. 36, by the hand of the archaeologist director, Carles Juan Fuster. The visit brought together 60 attendees who, due to the dimensions of the archaeological site, were divided into two sessions of 30 participants each.

The visit to the archaeological intervention was preceded by a historical walk through the segment of the Islamic Medina developed in the current historic center. Aspects such as the urban structure in this sector of Daniya, the hammam or baths on the street that bears the same name, the probable location of the mosque or the domestic architecture, were the main arguments that the personnel assigned to the Archeology and Museums area transmitted to the users, through reproductions of graphic material.

Arriving at number 36 on Calle de Loreto, the archaeologist director, Carles Juan Fuster, offered first-hand information on this sector of the great site that is Madinat Daniya to bring the attendees closer to the urban reality of the city of the second half of the twelfth century. The visit was complemented by the exhibition of a compilation of the main ceramics that the archaeological intervention has provided.
