Statement from the Government Team on the concentration of merchants

Before the concentration convened this noon on the works that are currently being executed in the city, the local government formed by PSPV y Compromís we want:
 

• 1. To deeply regret the partisan and politicized use that some opposition parties have made in the concentration convened by the Local Trade Manager of Dénia. A concentration in which it has been more than demonstrated that most of the attendees neither reflect nor represent the diverse commerce of the city.

 

• 2. The presence of representatives of other economic sectors of the city that have other claims to the government makes it clear that the objective of the concentration was not other than to politically wear down the local government.

 

• 3. From the local government we consider that the concentration was totally unjustified, since it is flatly false that in Dénia there is a rosary of works. There will only be two works in the streets of the city during the summer, in the street of the Sea and in the square of Archduke Carlos, since the rest of the redevelopment works are practically finished.

 

• 4. We consider that the redevelopment of the commercial areas of the city is a starting point for the recovery and activation of traditional and local commerce that is experiencing, at a general level, very difficult moments. The works are more than necessary. The beneficiary of the works is all citizens (neighbors, merchants and visitors) who has suffered years of forgetting and lack of investment in the improvement of the city.

 

• 5. We reaffirm our commitment to all the commerce of the city. To do this, in the coming days we will sit down at the meeting when we are summoned by the General Director of Commerce, to continue working side by side with the vast majority of merchants in the city from dialogue, respect and consensus.
