Compromís proposes expanding green bonuses to advance energy self-consumption

February 12 from 2021 - 13: 25

Compromís per Dénia will request to increase the "green" bonuses of the IBI, IAE and vehicle rates in the current tax ordinances, "with the aim of moving towards energy self-consumption and incentivizing renewable energies", has explained Rafa Carrió. The proposal, made through a motion that will seek the consensus of all municipal groups, will be presented to the Finance committee next week.

The approach is to increase the current Real Estate rate (IBI) discount from 10 to 50% for private and community dwellings that cover 50% of consumption; At the same time, 50% of the discount for the Construction, Installation and Works (ICIO) rate is maintained. In addition, a 25% reduction in the Economic Activities rate (IAE) is proposed for companies that include photovoltaic, geothermal and aerothermal solar installations.

As explained by Rafa Carrió, spokesman for the municipal group, "Dénia enjoys an average of 3001 hours of sunshine in the year, which makes investment by individuals in solar energy very favorable, and citizens have to lose their fear of investing and get an idea of the benefits of reducing emissions and to be energy self-sufficient, which improves not only the environment, but also one's health and economy ".

Regarding the tax on Mechanically Traction Vehicles (IVTM), Compromís urges to modify the current discount and apply 100% of the discount on newly acquired passenger cars and commercial vehicles with zero CO₂ emission engines (zero label) to the environment, such as electric, plug-in hybrids with autonomy exceeding 0km, or fuel cells. Regarding newly acquired passenger cars and commercial vehicles with engines that comply with label B emissions (ECO), an 40% discount.

Carrió insists that "The awareness of the population through environmental education, sensitization and, above all, incentives, are tasks that municipalities must lead as dynamizing agents of a more sustainable urban development, and although Dénia has already been making its way in this sense, a more ambitious and courageous bet is needed ", and concludes that "In matters of the environment, as in health, prevention is better than cure".

"From the Valencian training it is committed not only to a stronger incentive for renewable energy to make Dénia more lively and sustainable, but also to greater communication, awareness and information on bonuses, aid in the sector, etc.". For this reason, the motion will also urge to create a single window to offer advice and help in this regard, as well as to carry out information and awareness campaigns on the advantages, supra-municipal aid and procedures. Finally, it is also encouraged to request financial aid, present or future, linked to the PACES (Plan of Action for Climate and Sustainable Energy).
