There is already a poster for the Mig Any de Dénia 2024 parties, in which this year there will be more participation

This Thursday the presentation of the poster of Mig Any of Moors and Christians 2024 of Dénia at the City Hall. The Festival Councilor was present at the event. Raúl García de la Reina, the president of the FEMMICC Sonia Pérez and the Moorish and Christian captains Paco Vengut and Juan Marco.

This year's poster, by artist José Iglesias, represents the two sides, the Moorish and the Christian, one represented by a man and the other by the woman. Furthermore, it appears the castle of Dénia at the bottom. The poster has received several applause from the revelers present at the presentation.

Pérez has expressed that they face this event "with great enthusiasm", since the revelers have increased to 745, which is 20% more than last year. The president of the FEMMICC has explained that this is due in part to the creation of two new ranks of women, the taifas and the smugglers. “We are growing year by year,” she stressed.

Paco Catalá, president of the brotherhood of Sant Roc, also attended the event and highlighted the fact that ten more women participated. "Long live Dénia, long live the Moors and Christians festivals and long live San Roc," Català concluded.

Mig Any 2024 schedule

The party will start on Saturday, February 10 at 10:00. The revelers will go to the Torre del Consell to install the flags. Next, on Sunday the 11th, Mig Any Children's will be held, from 10:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. in the Plaza del Consell, where activities such as makeup or brass bands will take place. "Children are a fundamental part of the party, they are our future," said the president.

Regarding the cultural sphere, on February 12, an exhibition of historical festive weapons will be inaugurated, donated by members of the federation. It will be found in the Casa Valero Museum in Palma and can be visited until February 26.

Additionally, on the 13th at 13:30 p.m., the Children's Drawings Contest exhibition opens, with the award-winning drawings. They will be found until the 19th at the Municipal Market.

On the other hand, you can enjoy a conference and colloquium, led by Rosa Seser, about "Philip III and his legacy in Dénia." It will take place on the 14th at 19:30 p.m. in the assembly hall of the House of Culture.

On Saturday the 17th at 11:30 is the presentation of positions (captains, flag bearers...) at the Dénia Social Center and the award ceremony for the drawings will also take place. Next, at 14:30 p.m. in the parking lot in front of the train station, the reception of charges will take place.

On Friday the 23rd at 20:00 p.m. in the Church of San Antonio a mass will be celebrated in honor of the deceased festival-goers and at 23:00 p.m. the Nit de les Filaes will begin.

The official parade, which will pass through Calle la Vía, Marques de Campo and will end at Cruz Roja, can be seen on Saturday the 24th starting at 12:00. And that day at 18:00 p.m. there will be the Retreta with the same itinerary.
