After more than a month open to the public at the end of last year, as a culmination to the celebrations of the 400 years of the Title of the City of Dénia, the exhibition "Dénia 1612. Viure to the city" reopens to the public in the Center d'Art L'Estacio Saturday May 25.
Councilwoman culture, Pepa FontHe explained that in his first public opening, the exhibition received more than 3.000 private visits, as well as concerted visits for student groups. That is why from his department have decided to install the sample of Dénia of 400 years ago for a month.
Consists of three blocks, this exhibition covers all aspects of society 1612 from power in the city, with explanations of ceremonies like Swath (when the people were informed about the funeral honors of important people), the defense of the city or the important role of the port.
The second room will focus on religion and gastronomy, and in it we see the costumes Moma and Momo of the celebrations of Corpus that, like the figure of El Drac, have been loaned for the exhibition by Dianium Dansa .
The last room will be dedicated to the Nova Ciutat, and in it we can see the original sample of the City Title of Dénia, as well as a reproduction of the ceremonial costume of the juries, the Gramalla, made from the few preserved paintings. In this room the election system of the municipal rulers will also be recreated -Els jurats- known as Els redolins, In which the names of candidates, written on parchment, wrapped with a ball of wax and deposited in a basin filled with water barber. A child was in charge of choosing the four balls that would determine juries that year.
Complementing this exhibition guided the 9, 16 and 23 Sunday June by the municipal archivist visits will take place, Rosa Seser, who will also be in charge of the talk that will be held on Wednesday 5 June in the room under the title "Eat and drink in the XVII". That day, in addition, the assistants will be able to return to taste clarea, drink very appreciated by the dianenses of the time with white wine and spices, and an appetizer based also on the tastes of those times.
Seser announced that from the Municipal Archive they are working so that, in the month of September, a compilation book of the activities carried out during the fourth centenary of the City of Dénia will be published which will include unpublished documents about the Dénia of that time.
Once the acts of commemoration of the 400 years of the title are finished, the celebrations of the millennium of the Taifa of Dénia will begin, which is the fulfillment of this 2013.
