Trolley (Troleo), the short film directed by Luis E. Pérez, written by himself and Pilar Paredes, has been awarded the Biznaga de Plata Audience Award at the 27th edition of the Malaga Festival, within the Official Fiction Short Film Section.

«Receiving this award has been a surprise. The short has just started touring festivals. Málaga is the first selection and the first festival to showcase it. For anyone who tells stories, the great unknown is always the public's response and they are the ones who have decided. This award is very special and very important to us. We are very grateful to the Málaga Festival for giving us this opportunity,” says Luis E. Pérez.

This 12-minute short film was filmed entirely in the Alicante town of Denia and produced by Paloma Mora of Admirable Films and TV ON Producciones. It has the support of the Valencian Institute of Culture (IVC), the ICAA and the participation of À Punt Mèdia.

Trolley It combines genres such as horror, drama and suspense and tells the story of Marina, a mother who works hard every day in endless work days and who knows that she has lost control of her son's education. Iker is an aspiring streamer who lives trapped in his room and seriously lacking in attention. One night, Iker decides to troll his mother, but what the young man doesn't know is that reactions to trolling can be unpredictable.

For Luis E. Pérez, "the short film Trolley focuses its focus on the cruelty of childhood; in the desperation of parents for not knowing how to deal with their children's new behaviors; in the inability to control the wildest and most primitive instincts; in the countercurrent of established morality; and in the spectators as witnesses and drivers of inhuman behavior.

Trolley It stars the Valencian actress Cristina García (Autoindefinits, Maniacs, Ladies of the Underworld, El Olivo, M'esperaràs) and by the young promise Rubén Tonda, who has participated in two of the director's previous short films Menagerie y First days. The cast includes actress Amparo Bàguena, Raquel Martínez and Javier López.

Luís E. Pérez has a solid career as an investigative journalist and filmmaker. His short films have achieved recognition from critics and festivals. His first job I'll be right back (2012) was highlighted by the specialized magazine Cahiers du Cinema, currently Caimán, as one of the 10 best shorts of the year.
