Juan Carlos Signes opinion (GDCU) on the appointment of Joan Sala

January 23 from 2016 - 00: 22

Allow me from these lines to publicly congratulate Joan Sala on his appointment to lead the Governing Board of the Montgó Natural Park, and let me explain to you why I am delighted with this surprising decision, given the background in the old appointments.

When in mid-2011 made by the Department of Environment, one of the first meetings I had was with ACIF (Association against forest fires), me and witnessed weak to say no, he received a volunteer group, which only aimed to the care and conservation of our Montgó. Montgó why is ours, all, but only a few like Joan Sala, have worried really care for him.

For more inri, we woke up the week with the declarations of the President of the Generalitat, where it announces publicly that they must be the Mayors of Dénia and Xàbia, on a rotating basis, those who had to assume the direction of the Governing Board of the Montgó Natural Park. The first thought that came to my mind was that I fell back into the same vices of yesteryear. Political positions placed as a prize for their respective parties. And the truth, when the appointment of Joan Sala became public, several realities were exposed. The little political and decisive weight available to the President of the Generalitat, given his accurate comment, and on the other hand, the real change in environmental policy in the Valencian Community. It seems that at last it is going to take into account the collectives and the people who really know the day to day of the Montgó Natural Park.

I remember like it was yesterday, the fateful day of the fire last September 11 2014. Once arrives to the shooting range of Xàbia, first command from where the work of extinction were going, the first person I met in first line with his hand walki went to Joan Sala. His work in the extinction was magnificent, although later, and the control room full of cameras and politicians, nobody cared to eat and drink to continue the voluntary and selfless task of protecting our Montgó flames.

Just tell Joan Sala, having me at your disposal for whatever you need, as we have always had the, when the Montgó what's needed.
