22 December 2017 - 01: 57

The City of Dénia works on the recovery of the old quarry of La Pedrera in a new and ambitious green area. When the works that have just started with the discharge of 5.600 cubic meters of land finish, the Quarry will become a Mediterranean forest with three platforms at different heights that will culminate in a viewpoint located at 48 meters high.

The mayor of the Environment, Josep Crespo, announced these works during the traditional Christmas breakfast with the media. The zone, of 7.200 square meters, has been until now a deposit of rubbish of companies of agriculture, and from now on it will work in turning it into a zone of leisure and nature. The three platforms will be regenerated with native trees and shrubs and the fourth platform will be occupied by the viewpoint.

The project contemplates the creation of two routes, one of ascent and one of descent, which will be properly signposted and delimited to avoid falls, as well as a picnic area with furniture and explanatory panels on the project that will be installed in the lower part.
