The restaurants in Dénia with the best tapas on the last route

A new edition of the Dénia Tapas Route has come to an end and the restaurants awarded for their proposals have already been announced. He El Redoli restaurant (Loreto street, 16) has been the winner of this 22nd edition, held from October 19 to November 12, 2023, with its oxtail stew dish. The person in charge of the establishment has received a commemorative plaque from GuiaME Comunicació, the organizing company of the Route, in collaboration with the Association of Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurs of the Marina Alta (AEHTMA) and the Dénia City Council. Additionally, you will receive a decorative gas patio heater, courtesy of the company fire Spreading, and a tasting lunch or dinner offered by the restaurant Mena.

The second prize went to Bar 27 (Calle La Vía, 33) for its Lei Diversa, a homemade ravioli stuffed with gorgonzola cheese, walnut and crescent with egg dough stuffed with salmon, shrimp on caramelized pumpkin sauce, grana padano flakes with peperoncino and black truffle. The award consists of a commemorative plaque from GuiaME Comunicació, presented by its director, Manolo Martí, and a dinner with accommodation and breakfast at the La Font d'Alcalà hotel, in Alcalà de la Jovada.

Mayor and Councilor for Tourism, Vicent Grimalt, has presented the Dénia Tourism award plaque for the best tapa made with a native product, which has gone to the Tasty restaurant (pl. Convent, 5) for its tapa “Our coca de dacsa”

This year, AEHTMA has awarded two awards to the best tapas selected by a technical jury, presented by its representatives Diego Mena and Reme Cerdá. The first AEHTMA award went to Pantalán 02 (c. Magallanes, 3) for its proposal Al mar, a cockle ceviche and the second went to the restaurant Tastimo (c. Bellavista, 3) with its tapa of torrezno crumbs with poached egg, creamy potato and Padrón pepper. Both establishments have received a commemorative plaque and the gift of a gastronomic experience in Dénia for two people.

Bonanotte, special award

The organizer GuiaME has presented a special prize, worth 300 euros in cash, to the Bonanotte restaurant (pl. Convent, 6A) for the dedication, involvement and commitment, as well as the good work and care that the establishment has with the Tapas Route, “always thinking about what tapas to do and how to improve from one route to another,” said Manolo Martí.

Navy Portal Award

The Route also rewards the riders who have scored the most tapas. This award is sponsored by the mall Portal de la Marina and consists of a gift card worth 500 euros for purchases at the shopping center.

The winner of this edition has been Ramón Rodríguez, from Bilbao living in Dénia, "who has tried and evaluated the 50 tapas that entered the competition this edition." Ramón Rodríguez has commented that he has participated in all editions of La Ruta and that he “really enjoys” the experience.

Raffle among the riders

The awards ceremony, held today in the Plenary Room of the Dénia City Council, includes the drawing of several prizes among the participating public who have valued at least 15 tapas in the Route passport.

The result of the draw is as follows:

  • Winner of a tapas dinner for two at the Bar 27 restaurant: (2nd place): Chantal Whitehouse
  • Winner of a tapas dinner for two at the Tasty restaurant (winner of the Dénia Tourism award): Bárbara Rezkova.
  • Winner of a tapas dinner for two people at the Tastimo restaurant (winner of the 2nd AEHTMA prize): Santiago Moncho Ausina.
  • Winner of a tapas dinner for two people at the Pantalán 02 restaurant (winner of the 1st AEHTMA prize): Leles Noguera
  • Winner of the AEHTMA award for a hotel night, with dinner and breakfast at the Hotel Los Angeles for two people: Linda Powell.
  • Winner of a gourmet basket with Navy products, courtesy of Melicatesen: Didier Viret Masson.

The organization is already working on the 23rd edition of the Tapas Route, which will be held from February 8 to March 3, 2024.
