The school also participated in the planting of Arbor Day

More than 200 school students Les Vessanes, Raquel Payà, Paidos, Carmelitas and Marist participated, during the last two weeks, several plantations organized by the Department of Environment and Climate Change on the occasion of the celebration of Arbor Day.

The participants, divided into small groups, helped dig the earth, bring compost, planting and watering, with staff supervision of Parks and Gardens. In total 30 specimens of native trees such as almond, hackberry, cypress, carob and olive trees were planted along with shrubs and aromatic plants in the gardens of La Pedrera, Ginjoler, compared with IES No. 3 and next to the delegation of Estate.

To complement the activity before planting projections were made in the escoalres centers to raise awareness among students about the importance of trees, benefits, threats faced and best practices for conservation.

Also, and for the second year in a row, a field study was carried out in the yard of each center, consisting of an inventory of species and a count of the number of trees in each school that each student pointed out in a map of their center.
