In May 2001, and as a pilot program was launched in Dénia course two months aimed at over 55 years whose welcomed encouraged the City Council Dénia launch, five months later, the first offering of courses and workshops for adults . At that time nine workshops and a total capacity 216, which attracted the attention of 188 users were offered.
Fifteen years later, courses in the classrooms of the Third Age have increased to 19 822 workshops and people enrolled, besides having come to La Xara and Jesus Pobre.
Now, in the course in which we celebrate this special anniversary, the Department of the Mayor who runs Elisabet Cardona has scheduled a series of activities to commemorate this anniversary with Dianense students and society in general.
Anniversary programming will begin next April 11 with a photographic exhibition showing the path of learning and socio-cultural activities carried out during this time. The exhibition will open at 18 hours, on the ground floor of the Social Center.
On May 5, the Social Center will once again host a festive event with performances and audiovisual projections; and a month later, on June 5, a day of coexistence of the students of the Classrooms will be held in the castle. Finally, the end-of-year festival, scheduled from June 28 to 30, will focus this year on remembering the fifteen years of Classrooms in Dénia.
