Entrepreneurs Association lodged an appeal against the closure of Marqués de Campo from Friday

01 December 2016 - 09: 05

La Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs Dénia (ACE) is against the extension of the closure of the Calle Marques de Campo from Friday afternoon. As explained in the appeal filed with the City of Dénia, this measure is violated "the rights to the peaceful activity of the merchants of the affected area, the human labor fabric is weakened and negative consequences on employment are caused directly".

The merchants remember that "Marques de Campos Street has been nominated for the last 30 years as the most important urban commercial street in the Marina Alta". According to denounce, "Respect for tradition and trade routes is not taking place in Denia when without dialogue, without respect for existing trade and without prior notice, the Local Government Board alters the pace and existing commercial flow".

The association presided by Antonio Llopis regrets that the City Council has taken this decision "unilaterally, without consensus, with excessive haste and without reflection on the consequences already announced by those who live in the street, merchants, workers and neighbors", "which entail serious damage to the commercial work fabric involved."

It should be remembered that this summer, in its first assembly as an association, ACE members have already expressed their refusal to close this artery, which brings together more than 80 shops, mostly textiles, along its 450 meters.
