This Saturday, 23 in September, the partners of the Real Club Nautico de Dénia have a meeting with the polls to choose who will be the new president and his team for the next four years. After eight years in the presidency, the Dianense Jaime Portolés aspires to continue in the position to finalize the project that began in the year 2009.
Linked to the Real Club Náutico de Dénia since its creation, Jaime Portolés is the son of a founding partner and carries the sea in his veins. And he shows it in every word he says, talking passionately about his dedication and his career in the club.
During these years of presidency has achieved its maximum objective, the budget balance that has allowed, among other things, the remodeling of the facilities: an elevator that complies with the rules of accessibility to buildings, reopening of a restaurant that took 10 years closed to the public, renovation of the terrace, improvement of parking covers, a laundry demanded by partners, new bathrooms and renovation of anchoring trains and docks. In addition a new gas station has been built, access has been improved and the gym has been renovated.
And how to improve what has been achieved so far? The candidacy of Jaime Portolés wants to finish the project that began in 2009 with improvements in the security of the installations, the definition of the environmental and hygienic measures for a greater cleaning in the docks and in the waters that surround the installations.
Portolés also wants to encourage the proposals made by the partners, so that "Our management adapts to the needs and requirements of all users". At the social level, they undertake to stimulate social activities and "maintain the situation of harmony that we have achieved in recent years", while at the sporting level its objective will be focused on promoting activities in the modalities of sailing, rowing, fishing and canoeing, "maintaining the leadership and prestige of the entity as we have done so far".
To give shape to this new project, Jaime Portolés has surrounded himself with his usual team, people who know the reality of the nautical. They accompany Jaime Nicolas Candela, Juan M. Riera, Juan Antonio Carmona, Miguel Ferrer, Juan Carlos Pérez, Juan Jose Lidón, Toñi Simó and Juan M. Calvente.
According to the candidate, the management of an entity such as the Real Club Nautico de Dénia "It is not difficult, but not easy". Portolés is aware of the importance of the club in the city of Dénia, since it is one of the entities that attracts more tourists throughout the year thanks to the sports competitions that take place in its facilities.
It is for that reason that it appreciates the collaboration of the City council of Dénia, although it considers that the weight of the Nautical in the local tourism deserve an even greater support on the part of the consistory. With the Conselleria things are being more complicated, since the changes in the Law of Ports are generating difficulties. In this sense, the Royal Nautical Club of Denia is quiet, but the two concessions it holds in 2024 (which includes the pontoons from 3 to 9) and 2028 (the concession that encompasses the main building and pontoons of 0 to 3).
The candidate Portolés has lamented the declarations that his rival in the polls made, calling them "unfortunate" and regretting that you have opted for "unnecessary insult". 992 partners are called to vote this Saturday, and Portolés only expects that appeals to this appeal will reach the maximum number of partners possible to "justice be done" at the polls.
