FEMMICC Dénia stands out with its inclusive project in the Board of Entities of the Undef

November 07 from 2023 - 10: 40

The assembly hall of the Alicantina Fair Institution (IFA) hosted this Sunday the Board of Entities of the Undef where Dénia had a very relevant role due to the presentation of the inclusive pictogram and the intervention of our celebrator and former president of the Federation (2016-2018 ) Miguel Ángel Fullana.

Since this weekend, Fullana is a member of the Undef Governing Board headed by the current president, Pepa Prats, and will be in charge, within the management organization chart, of all matters related to the SGAE, so in vogue lately by the problem that has arisen in recent years and has been aggravated by the incessant rise in fees for the interpretation of festive compositions, causing suffocation among the budgets of the populations.

Furthermore, according to Undef, the agreement that was signed with the society in 2008 is being breached and the proposals that the festival-goers make are not being accepted. According to Miguel Angel Fullana, the festivities of Moors and Christians They are the parties that pay the most to the Sgae, even more than other celebrations with great musical accompaniment such as the Fallas, Bonfires or Holy Week in Seville.

At the same time, he indicated that they are working on proposals such as contacting other managing entities such as SEDA (Spanish Copyright Society) to assess rates, resorting to public domain pieces that are not subject to the copyright rate or creating its own exclusive copyright society for pieces of Moors, Christians and Pasodobles.

In another order of things, the president of Femmicc Dénia Sonia Pérez, presented to all the populations that are part of the Board of Entities (a total of 79), the Inclusive Pictograms of the Moors and Christians of Dénia festival. As you will remember, this is a pioneering project that emerged in collaboration with the Department of Equality and Diversity of the Denia City Council with the councilor Javier Scotto in front and the Raquel Payá School, which had a great response and acceptance during the last August 2023 holidays.

For this reason, Femmicc Dénia made the commitment to involve and make this project known to all the populations that are part of the UNDEF that expressed their interest in including them in their celebrations.

The representatives of the entity described this project as innovative and necessary to be able to bring the festivities closer to the entire public without distinction and each population will have at its disposal the different pictograms so that they can be used in their festivities and thus make them more inclusive.
