International Business students from Lamar University (Texas, USA) and Spanish language and culture students from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) have made a cultural and gastronomic immersion in Dénia during these days.

The students, in a program organized by the Gasterra UA-Dénia Mediterranean Gastronomy Center together with the Superior Language Center of the University of Alicante, and in collaboration with the Dénia Creative City of Gastronomy office of the Dénia City Council, have carried out different activities during your visit to the city.

They have visited the castle de Dénia, a monument declared an Asset of Cultural Interest that brings together the traces of the different cultures that have passed through the city. They have also enjoyed a guided tour of the Museu de la Mar, located in the old fish market, in the port area, a museum space that has more than 400 archaeological and ethnological pieces dating from the XNUMXth century BC to early s. XX

The group also traveled to Beniarbeig to discover Estudio Santiago, a kitchen studio with an innovative show cooking concept: the Santiago Chef Table. There, from the hand of Ximo Pastor, head chef of the Mar de Samar restaurant in Dénia, they learned Spanish gastronomic culture. The students put on their aprons to prepare such classic tapas as the potato omelette and participate in cooking traditional rice dishes from the Marina Alta.
