El PSPV de Dénia highlights the actions that since his arrival at the head of the City Council eight years ago have been carried out in the city. This time the objective of his memories is focused on the Port-Centre neighborhood and on the transformation that they have led in this part of the town and to which they have applied "an aesthetic improvement still in process and a change in uses and the way of live the epicenter of the social and economic life of the city”.

"A tourist city like Dénia, a national benchmark and UNESCO Creative City, deserves a charming urban center, respectful of its historic core, attractive for commerce and restaurants, the heart of a good part of the municipality's festive life", they assure.

The redevelopment of Colón, La Mar, Sandunga streets and Fontanella square marked the beginning of this transformation, renewing the image, street furniture and lighting. Although the commitment of the socialists to pedestrianization stands out, in the case of La Mar and Sandunga, "to free the urban center from traffic and recover it for people."

The next step in his objective was to definitively close Marqués de Campo to vehicles and the improvement works on the main street that are currently being carried out, in parallel with the redevelopment of Glorieta and his or her environment. "Two actions that, together with the future garden of the old ambulatory site, will transform the urban center of Dénia and enhance its commercial and tourist attraction," they point out.

In addition, the socialist government of Dénia claims to have shown great interest in the recovery of the city's history, as reflected in the ambitious restoration works of the Verger Alt and the Verger Baix del Castle. The latter will reopen the old access to the fortress from the public road through the Torre de Galliner. These actions have been financed by the Government of Spain (1% Cultural), the Generalitat (FEDER Funds) and the Dénia City Council with more than 1 million euros.

In its new government program for the period 2023-2027, the Socialists of Dénia have included another project to recover Dianense history and its spaces: the Magatzem dels Anglesos in the Plaza del Convent, which will be adequate and open to the public for the celebration of cultural activities.

The commercial reactivation is another of the objectives of the socialist government for the Port-Centre neighborhood. The improvements in the Mercat de Dénia, the creation of a 'marketplace' of local commerce and the management of local commerce or the management of €200.000 of Consumption Bonds from the Provincial Council and a second campaign launched with €120.000 municipal, have had their climax with the granting of €1.400.000 to the city from European Next Generation funds to invest in projects aimed at transforming the retail business sector.

Some measures already planned for this space are the installation of digital signage, touch screens at strategic points with a business search engine and information on the municipality; a Smart Commerce Dénia app; the installation of intelligent signage that will make it possible to locate free parking spaces; refrigerated ticket offices in the Mercat to make purchases online and pick them up at any time with an access code; or the launch of a program to replace plastic bags with cloth bags in shops.

In addition, they recall, the urban center will benefit from the mobility actions included in the Dénia Smart City project, which includes, for example, the monitoring of parking lots and traffic and the regulation of access and traffic control through automatic bollards and cameras in semi-pedestrian streets (such as Sandunga, Major, Senieta, Marqués de Campo).
