Last May, a few days before the municipal elections, the then mayor Ana Kringe announced the signing of a new agreement for the financing of the regeneration and urban renewal area of the "historic center" of Dénia (ARRU). According to this agreement, Dénia would receive more than six million euros to continue with the work carried out by the Integral Rehabilitation Area of the Historical Center of Dénia (ARI).
This project is financed by the Ministry of Development, the Generalitat Valenciana, the City Council of Dénia and affected individuals.
Now, three months later, the new government team has been interested in the status of the agreement, and the surprise has come to detect that the part of redevelopment that corresponds to the Generalitat coincides with the redevelopment projects initially envisaged in the Plan Confianza .
Therefore, Dénia will not receive any more funding from the Generalitat Valenciana, since the redevelopment that corresponds to the autonomous entity of the ARRU coincides with the redevelopment projects already contemplated in the Confianza Plan: the redevelopment of access to the castle San Francisco Street (€367.731,84), asphalting of downtown roads (€400.000), Colón Street redevelopment (€750.000), improvements to the castle, lighting, signage and clearing (€400.000), Sandunga Street redevelopment (€750.000) and La Mar street redevelopment (€750.000). A total of €3.417.731,84.
To clarify this bizarre situation, the mayor has already announced that the first week of September will hold a meeting at the Ministry of Housing to review the agreement and clarify which projects correspond to each program (Plan Confianza or ARRU), as well as the dates of execution.
And it is that the ARRU contemplates most of the financing for the 2017 year, when the projects that are duplicated with the Trust Plan must be completed by the 31 of December of 2016.
Council for the Special Plan of Les Roques
The councilor for citizen participation, Óscar Mengual, explained that in the next plenary session they will approve the creation and regulation of the Council for the Special Plan of Les Roques. According to Mengual, "this neighborhood of the city has a specific problem to which a solution must be found from the maximum possible consensus."
The council will mark as objective the design of the guidelines of the Special Plan of the neighborhood and the monitoring of the redevelopment of the streets that are included in the area of regeneration and urban renewal of the "historic center" of Dénia.
Mengual announced that it will be made up of all the municipal groups with municipal representation, the Neighborhood Association of the neighborhood, technical staff of the City of Dénia and the neighbors who request it.
