The Consell considers the Mercat del riurau an example of sustainable economy

On Friday morning, Jesus Pobre was visited by three members of the Valencian government: the Minister of Finance and Economic Model, Vicent Soler; the Minister of Sustainable Economy, productive sectors, Trade and Labor, Rafael Climent; and the Regional Minister for Agriculture, Environment, Climate and Rural Development, Elena Cebrián Change.

Meeting in Jesus Pobre

Valencian government representatives were interested in the functioning of the Mercat of riurau of EATIM, a self-managed initiative that the minister described as Rafa Climent "example of sustainable economy and rooted in the territory"And it is also considered feasible in other parts of Valencia.

According to Elena Cebrián said, "It is a way of reinventing oneself based on traditional production to get ahead after suffering the consequences of the crisis". For Vicent Soler, "The Mercat del Riurau, which follows the line of the economy of the common good, is an example of a well-managed initiative that is having very positive effects for the local economy in the area".

After having an informative meeting with the organizers of the Mercat and the mayors of Jesús Pobre, Javier Scotto; and Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, Valencian government representatives visited the Great riurau of Benissadeví, the place where the Mercat is installed every Sunday.
