16 June 2023 - 09: 20

As Pepa Cardona, author and adoptive mother of a child of Ethiopian origin, explains, "my goal in writing this book has not been to write a manual with the steps that must be followed when starting this process, but simply to accompany or inspire, through from my own experience, to all those who consider adoption as a way to become parents or who are immersed in any moment of the process».

In its pages, Pepa Cardona shares her personal experience and her knowledge of the adoption process. With tenderness and wisdom, she recounts each phase from the initial desire to the emotional preparation and the challenges that arise along the way until culminating in the adoption. "Each adoption process is personal and different, just like the arrival of each child in a family," says Cardona.

With close and direct language, this novel accompanies us and offers us a realistic vision of the ups and downs of the process, challenges us to question conventional perceptions about motherhood and invites us to recognize that all mothers, regardless of the way in which their children come into their lives, they experience the deep and sacred bond that only a mother can understand. gestated in the heart shows us that maternal love is not defined by the circumstances of birth, but by the ability to love and raise a child with all your heart.

As the author relates, the adoption process is usually complex and long and all kinds of emotions are experienced with its lights and shadows, with its doubts and hopes. «My own experiences were not easy and I sentí very alone. In addition to the intensity of the emotions you feel, you are faced with many doubts and decisions, without knowing which path you have to take to move forward. A true resilience process”, says Cardona.

  1. Pepa says:

The decision to adopt a child seems fantastic to me, many of the obstacles that lie ahead for it seem unnecessary to me. I have some friends who, with the intention of adopting a child, adopted four, they were brothers in the same shelter and they did not want to separate them from each other.
    Pepa Cardona… admiration!!
