The Dénia City Council has supported two agreements during today's extraordinary and urgent plenary session. The first is a collaboration between the Dianense council and the company Bosquia Nature SL for the preservation and restoration of a native Mediterranean forest on a plot in Les Deveses known as the Pueblo Andaluz public green area.
This is one municipal plot of 7.500 m² adjacent to the Pueblo Andaluz urbanization. This agreement, supported by the votes in favor of the PSPV, Compromís, Vox and Gent of Dénia, as well as the abstention of PP, lasts two years from the first planting season.
Restoration of the native Mediterranean forest
Bosquia Nature SL is a company of Asturian origin, whose main commitment is to contribute to the fight against desertification, reforesting and avoiding the degradation of land and forests, through the planting of trees, under strict environmental and scientific criteria. Thanks to the collaboration with many municipalities in Spain, Bosquia has managed to plant more than 385.000 trees throughout the national territory.
The supporting report of the collaboration agreement between the Dénia City Council and Bosquia Nature, issued on November 22, established that the council allows the use of one or more plots of its property to be reforested, by volunteers from the aforementioned company, as well as its maintenance and conservation, during the validity period of the agreement.
As commented by the Councilor for the Environment, Sandra Gertrúdix, the collaboration agreement does not have any economic cost for the City Council, since it is the Bosquia company that will assume all the costs of the expenses necessary to carry out the plantation action. reforestation and subsequent maintenance of the trees planted on said plot.
The tree species that will be planted and will bring new life to the green area are holm oaks, carob trees, mastic trees, aladier trees and olive trees, whose planting will be carried out by between 60 and 70 volunteers.
Addendum to the agreement to finance the Gastronomic Sciences campus
On the other hand, in the extraordinary and urgent plenary session it has also been agreed that the Dénia City Council signs the addendum to the agreement that regulates the subsidy from the Generalitat to finance the future university campus of Gastronomic Sciences based in Dénia. The addendum determines, fundamentally, an extension of the multi-year distribution of the total investment that the Generalitat is going to make, which amounts to 1.280.000 euros. According to the initial agreement, this investment was going to be made effective in the 2022 and 2023 annuities, with contributions of 612.000 euros and 668.000 euros, respectively.
But the management of the eligible expense in 2022 was closed with a justified expense of 445.825,75 euros, due to the delays that occurred in the pace of execution of the works and the fact that the deadline for submitting the justification prevented the certifications from being included. of work attributable to the last quarter of the year, leaving an expense of 166.174,25 euros pending to be executed.
In the Monitoring and Control Commission of the agreement, held on October 27, 2023, it was proposed to transfer to 2024 that balance of 166.174,25 euros with which the maximum planned amount of the subsidy would be completed.
This point has been approved by a majority with the favorable vote of PSPV, Compromís and Partido Popular, the abstention of the Gent de Dénia group and the negative vote of Vox.
Fantastic good news
There are a lot of green areas that are nothing more than open fields…. They could plant trees in all of them. As well as a lot of empty tree pits, especially on the old karting road (parallel to the marinas) where small-caliber trees were once planted and only one shake was enough to break them and kill them...
