In order to transmit values and appropriate behavior when living with a pet, the Department of Environment of the City of Dénia, led by Juan Carlos Signes, Has launched an awareness campaign on responsible ownership and care of pets, focused on dogs, in order to prevent abandonment or abuse.
240 2º students of the Marist primary schools, Vessanes, Cervantes, Paidos, Carmelitas and La Xara have attended this activity, in which, through an audiovisual, they are shown the story of a dog that comes home as a gift from Christmas but with the passage of time it is abandoned. The projection shows images of the care of lost or abandoned dogs in the protective APAD of Dénia.
A questionnaire and a dramatization complete this educational activity in which the 50% of participating children have any pets.
