Dénia will receive aid to pay € 460.000 for damages by DANA

26 September 2019 - 11: 08

Two weeks after the episode that Dénia suffered caused by DANA, the City Council has made accounts of the damages that were caused in the city. This has been announced Vicent Grimalt in the press conference convened this morning, where he has declared that the figure of economic loss, a consequence of all damages, amounts to approximately € 460.000.

A few days ago, a great stir was created when the announcement of 2 decrees of the Generalitat was made public with the towns that would receive aid to mitigate the damage of the DANA. Among the list there was no mention of Dénia. However, the mayor wanted to reassure the population by ensuring that it was an urgent first step, but not the last. "I understand that we are not here because it is to help people who have run out of nothing", says Grimalt, ensuring that "We will enter into a subsequent decree for the peoples that have suffered damages but do not have that urgent nature", as confirmed by the Generalitat.

As announced by the City Council, a valuation of damages has already been sent that were also requested from the Ministry, so they will presumably receive aid to repair the damages of both the Generalitat and the central government.

With them, they must cover the repair costs amounting to € 460.000. Only in the pavilion of the sports center, which It was useless after the passage of the tornado, € 326.000 is required. They have also valued at € 125.000 the loss caused in sports equipment, beaches, signage and parks, among other things, and € 9.000 in relation to garbage containers.
