Daniel Barrera, athlete from Dénia, third with the Valencian team in the Spanish championship

Great achievements experienced by the Athletics Club Baleària Dianium last weekend. On the one hand, in Pamplona the championship of Spain of Autonomous Federations was played in the sub16 category and, on the other hand, in Cuenca the national competition of the sub14 team category took place.

In Pamplona, ​​the Dianense athlete Daniel Barrera was third with the Valencian team (240 points), behind Catalonia and Andalusia. The young man won the participation with the regional team in the 100 m dash, thanks to his result in the regional sub16 selection critèrium held on September 24.

Daniel was fifth in his series with a time of 12.35. He also participated in the 4x100 relay, where the Valencian team came fourth with a time of 44.46.

Men's U14 team

For its part, the EMA men's sub14 team from Dénia - CA Baleària Diànium went to Cuenca to compete in the national team championship together with their coaches, Aina Fornés and Michael Castle.

A participation that is already a success in itself, since it is the first time that a children's team of the club has achieved it. Only two teams from each autonomous community attend the tests. Those from Dénia had been warning of their potential during the season, remaining regional runners-up by teams both on the indoor and outdoor courts.

The meeting in Cuenca was played over two days. The contests were held on Saturday afternoon and the races on Sunday morning, and all athletes had to participate in at least one of each.

On Saturday the day ended with the 5x80 relay, a test in which those from Dénia were third in their series. Finally, in total, the team was in 22 position with 404,5 points. The general results of all the members in the different tests were the following:

  • 80 m: Pau Jagersma Gonzalez (11.22) and Hector Barbazán Roca (11.50)
  • 1000m: Joan Buigues Garcia (3:09.86) and Ricard Perez Miró (3:45.50)
  • 80 m tanks: Andreu Riera Valero (15.20) and Eddy Martinez Devesa (15.54)
  • Height: Andreu Riera Valero (1.36) and Eddy Martinez Devesa (1.30)
  • Length: Ivan Delgado Serer (4.16) and Joan Buigues Garcia (4.14)
  • Weight: Pau Jagersma Gonzalez (10.87) and Ricard Perez Miró (6.40)
  • Javelin: Hector Barbazán Roca (12.52) and Daniil Krasnoborov (11.19)
  • 2000m walk: Daniil Krasnoborov (15:15.56) and Ivan Delgado Serer (13:55.47)
