The Dénia City Council, in collaboration with the Valencian publishing house Andana Editorial, announces the seventh edition of the Ciudad de Dénia 2024 Children's and Youth Narrative Award in Valencian, coordinated by the Municipal Public Library. The prize is worth 3.000 euros and the publication of the winning work in Andana Editorial. The deadline for submitting works is now open and will end on May 26, 2024.
According to the rules, which can be consulted on the website of the Dénia City Council and on the Andana Editorial website, people of any nationality can submit original and unpublished works of narrative, written in Valencian and suitable for children readers from 9 to 12 years. The length of the works will be set at a minimum of 30 pages and a maximum of 80 pages.

Once the submission period has ended, the provisional list of titles received will be posted on the websites of the city council and the Andana publishing house, giving a period of 10 business days to present the allegations that are considered appropriate. Once resolved, the final list will be published on the aforementioned websites.
The jury, which will be made up of two representatives of the Dénia City Council, two people from Andana Editorial and a specialist in children's literature, will announce its verdict in the month of October, at the award ceremony in which it will be presented also the winning work published.
The members of the jury will evaluate various aspects of the works presented, including literary quality, originality and creativity, quality and lexical variety, the adequacy of the plot and language to the age of the readers or the ability to create characters that captivate interest.
