Arde a plot on the road to Les Planes

30 July 2013 - 08: 30

On Monday night, around 23 p.m., a call to 112 warned of a fire in a plot of Les Rotes, between the Betibó restaurant and the Parque Dénia urbanization. Until there, troops from the Regional Fire Station, National Police, Civil Protection and emergency brigades were transferred, who were able to put out the fire in a few hours.

According to some eyewitnesses to the police, it appears that the cause was a hot air balloon that they launched into the air with a candle, which finally, due to the wind, fell on a dry bush and began to burn in full Natural Park Montgó. At this time, there are seven detainees for reckless negligence who are waiting to be brought to justice.

Les Rotes fire - Dénia

Prevention in summer times when the fire risk is so high, it is essential. From all walks of life are alert to fire epligro green areas, it is prohibited to shoot rockets or pyrotechnic components and barbecues or fire in the monete. But, apparently, it is never enough.

Les Rotes area and other nearby Las Galeretes are disasters waiting to happen. As mentioned above, the problem is the number of areas of land where nature, particularly pines, are allowed to grow out of control around housing estates and villas set.
Along the slopes of the Montgó, the protected pine is growing out of control so that if there is a fire many properties and the lives of the owners will be in serious danger. There are patches of land that have been left to grow wild so that shrubs, bushes and trees tower over the properties - a lightning bolt, a ray of sunshine, a discarded cigarette, an ember from a barbecue and it could be a disaster where people could die.
Why? Why are these plots of private land allowed to be allowed to grow wild? Why does the Council make it almost impossible to cut the pines that grow as high as 30 meters and soars over the properties so that if a fire occurs the danger for the houses multiply several times?
The national park is something to be proud and should be handled carefully, but the council allowed the construction of the houses there for several decades and people have the right to live safely.
Like so many things, it will take a massive disaster before the council decides to do something about it. Then they will act justly and hope that we applaud them and vote for them when demand that pareclas owners have to clean and keep their land. Bravo.

It is a shame to see the neglect of the Montgó natural park. The soto forests are a time bomb, they have not been cleaned for years. Undergrowths have been cleaned all our lives, precisely to prevent fires and our ancestors knew exactly what they were doing. I don't know what interests environmentalists have, but this group, with their arguments that are often wrong, do more harm than good. We have the proof in the floods with not wanting the reeds to be cut down and in most of the fires that the forests be cleaned…. I hope that they are realizing how important it is to keep nature clean of brush and weeds….
