An invasion of ladybugs surprises the neighbors on the Dénia beach

26 2023 April - 18: 03

The beach Punta del Raset de Dénia has become the temporary home of thousands of ladybugs that have invaded the area in recent weeks. The members of Cultura Sostenible Dénia discovered lots of ladybugs on the sand, posidonia and rocks during a small day of cleaning cigarette butts on the dog beach.

Although ladybugs are known to be cute and colorful insects, many beach walkers might not realize what's under their feet and accidentally step on these little beetles. The invasion of ladybugs on El Raset beach is not a rarity, since these insects usually gather in large groups to hibernate and then separate when spring begins.

The Levante wind and the increase in temperatures in the region have favored the arrival of these ladybugs on the beach. Although the invasion may seem worrisome, the insects are completely harmless to humans and are valued by farmers for their ability to combat aphid attack in orchards.

Despite the joy that the arrival of these ladybugs on the beach has caused, it is important that visitors take precautions and pay attention to their surroundings to avoid harming these insects.

If they can't pay attention so as not to harm each other to ask them to look at the ladybugs...

I have not seen ladybugs but I have seen an INVASION OF PURPLE JELLYFISH on the beach - quite dirty - of Las Marinas, specifically in the section between the Oasis Bar and the Blay Beach restaurant.
We already have jellyfish in April?????
