An exhibition commemorates the 30 years of management of FGV of the line Alicante-Dénia

19 July 2017 - 01: 51

The 1 of January of 1987, FGV began to manage the railway services between Alicante and Denia from FEVE, after the transfer process and with a template of 129 workers. Until the beginning of FGV's commercial activity at 1987, the narrow-gauge railway had been configured as a classical suburban network, with notable importance in the metropolitan area and little influence on strictly urban traffic flows.

In Alicante, the passenger transport network of the TRAM of Alicante began its development starting from the axis formed by the line of narrow gauge that passed between the city of Alicante and Dénia and that had its origin in a first section between Alicante and Altea , Which dates from 1914. A year later, at 1915, the stretch of extension to Denia was inaugurated.

Today, 30 years after FGV took over the management of the line and curiously when the service has been suspended to improve its infrastructures, the station of Luceros of the TRAM d'Alacant premieres an exhibition that commemorates that event by taking a tour, through Images and documents, on these thirty years of history, in which FGV in Alicante has transported more than 100 millions of travelers.

Del Trenet to FGV Part of the first years of service in the years 80 and 90, and advances by the recovery of the tram, the expansion carried out in recent years and the modernization projects of the 9 Line, highlighting the more than 100 years of history of the line Alicante-Dénia, origin of the TRAM d'Alacant. In turn, reference is made to initiatives such as lemon Express, Tramnochador And highlights the work done by the workers of the company, as well as the travelers themselves

At its inauguration, the Consellera de Vivienda, Obras Públicas y Vertebración del Territorio, María José Salvador, recalled that "After 30 years, the Generalitat maintains its commitment to public, accessible and quality public transport, and in the case of TRAM d'Alacant, it has reinforced its commitment to this service with the modernization works of Line 9 that unites Benidorm and Dénia, to which more than 100 million euros are allocated in the renovation works of track and infrastructure ".

But what is this about? If precisely one of the problems and complaints is that there is no service from Alicante to Denia. And the one in Denia - Benidorm, was a small, unfortunate tram and on top of that they closed it. Management of what? What parallel universe are these people living in? Celebrating 30 years of what exactly? I look at the photos all with those smiling faces ...... what is the reason for your smile? Celebrate nothingness? And then go eat.
