One of the best cuisines with pomegranate is in La Xara

Four chefs from restaurants located in the provinces of Alicante, Huesca, Toledo and Valencia have been selected for the final of the XIII Creative Cooking Contest with Granadas de Elche that will take place on January 24 at the La Finca restaurant by Susi Díaz (1 Michelin star).

Among the finalists is Darwin Allauca from the El Carrer restaurant located in La Xara. His plate is called 'Ruby Venus'.

Both the chef of the Marina Alta Like the rest of the finalists, they will have 45 minutes in the final to prepare their recipe and win over the jury chaired by Elche chef Susi Díaz (1 Michelin star) together with Paco Torreblanca, named best pastry chef in the world in 2022, and chef Aurora Torres. of the La Herradura restaurant and the Lula by Aurora Torres gastronomic space (in the municipality of Los Montesinos in the region of La
Vega Baja de Segura) that have a Solete and a Sol from the Repsol Guide, respectively.

The jury will assess the technique, the presentation of the dish, flavor and the importance of the Mollar pomegranate from Elche when deciding the winners of this contest, which will award a total of 2.500 euros in prizes thanks to the sponsorship of different companies and public administrations.

In this way, the winner of the contest will obtain a cash prize of 1.500 euros while for the second, third and fourth classified there will be cash prizes of 600, 300 and 100 euros, respectively.

The chef of the El Carretera restaurant has been one of those selected among the 50 participants from more than twenty Spanish provinces.
