16 October 2019 - 11: 15

Between 2008 and 2009, a gang accused of assaulting 7 homes in both the island and Dénia and were arrested in El Verger and Ibiza Xàbia. Up to 23 people were prosecuted in a macrocause of the court of Dénia. Now, a decade later, as published by the newspaper Information, the Provincial Court of Alicante has acquitted 8 of the accused 9, the other 14 have not appeared and, therefore, have been declared in default. The only one found guilty, because remnants of his DNA were found in a can of soda, has been sentenced to 15 months in jail, but will not enter prison after having served preventively.

They faced penalties between 2 and 5 years, as well as an economic sanction of 400.000 euros for the stolen effects and damage to homes and businesses where they were accused of having entered to steal. The Prosecutor's Office pointed out that they were part of a criminal organization dedicated to the theft of houses and establishments, operating in different provinces.

A decade has lasted the process, with an absolute verdict for the vast majority of the defendants present at the trial. Apparently, the nullity of telephone interventions authorized by the Dénia court has been decisive. The listeners would have been done without sufficient tests to conclude the involvement of the telephone user. "By having a construction company, you cannot legitimately intervene the phone to anyone", indicates the Hearing.
