According to sampling by the Department of Tourism of the City of Dénia, the estimate of tourist occupation during the 2ª fortnight of the month of July has been: hotel establishments exceed 85% of occupation in the 2ª fortnight of July, being the type of establishment with the highest occupancy estimate; next, the campsites are located, with an estimate of occupancy around 75-80%; followed, tourist rental accommodation whose estimate is around 70-75%.
These data confirm the forecasts made for this fortnight taking into account the variability of extra-hotel accommodation places.
Total in the month of July
In relation to the total of the month of July 2019, the highest occupancy is registered by hotel establishments with an average occupation that is around 85-90%, followed by campsites and tourist rental accommodations, since both types of tourist accommodation have a monthly average that is in the range of 70-75%.
Occupancy forecast for the first half of August
The forecast of the tourist occupation for the first half of August is between 85-90% for all types of accommodation, both for hotel establishments and for campsites and tourist accommodation for rent.
Influx of visitors to the Tourist Information service
In July 2019, a total of 14.084 visitors were attended in the 3 offices of the tourist information service (Central, Consell and information point in the Museum of the Sea), being slightly higher than the number of visitors served by Tourist Info Dénia in the month of July of the year 2018.
As for the number of visitors attended by the 3 information offices, according to their opening hours, it is worth highlighting:
- In the Central Office (Buigues Oculist Square) with an opening hours from Monday to Friday, from 9.30h to 20.00h continuously, and Saturday / Sunday from 9.30 to 13.30 and from 15.00 to 20.00h, a total of 6.647 people have been attended.
- The office located in Plaza del Consell (historic center), with an opening hours from 09.30h to 13.30h, has served 3.281 people.
- The information point located inside the Museum of the Sea and with a schedule from 18.00 to 22.00 has attended, during the month of July, 4.156 people.
As for the PROCEDURES, of the total number of visitors, 51% are national tourists, mostly from the autonomous communities that have presented the highest fidelity to our destination in recent years, such as the Community of Madrid (44%), Valencian Community (18% approx.), Followed by Castilla-León (6%) and the Basque Country by 5%, thus following the trend of
The remaining 49% are of international origin, highlighting the issuing markets par excellence to our destination, with 45% originating in France, followed by Germany with approximately 15% and in United Kingdom 3%, with 14%, followed by Belgium (6%) and Holland (4%).
In reference to requests for information, visitors to the offices mostly requested general local information (28%), followed by Cultural Activities (19%) and Parties (11%). Next, information about the surroundings appears: Costa Blanca (9%), Nature (Hiking Trails and Natural Parks: 6%) and Leisure (5%).
