The Summer Courses of the UNED Dénia begin

08 July 2022 - 10: 00

The UNED Dénia headquarters hosts the start of the Summer Course "Peace and democracy: fundamental pillars of human rights"

From July 4 to July 6 The course "Peace and democracy: fundamental pillars of human rights" was developed, a course under the direction of the Professor of Law at the UNED, Rafael Junquera de Estéfani, and the coordination of the professor, Jaime Sendra.

The director of the UNED Dénia center, Raquel Marti, welcomed all the attendees and those who connect through the UNED online platform and added: “we are proud to have you here (Rafael Junquera de Estéfani and Jaime Sendra ) and that you defend human rights with that impetus and professionalism”

A journey through war and peace that, as Rafael Junquera de Estéfani commented: “this background course has all the problems of war and peace… The course will be seen from different points of view, today we will see what peace is, what war is, how peace and war are related, how it has been seen historically and legal philosophical thought, to later enter the field of international law of the United Nations. We will see how it is regulated reaching the European Union, and then we will focus on local institutions. We will comment on how peace can be worked from local institutions. The Síndic de Greuges will intervene and then with professors from the UNED who will guide the meaning of peace from culture, education, culture of peace and women, etc”.
