The Foundation Baleària The fourth edition of SolidarizARTE starts by putting organic cotton bags, mugs, computer mouse mats and framed prints on sale with the aim of raising funds for the Matria association. This non-profit entity made up of women from Dénia has been working since 2008 against gender violence through different protest and educational actions, collaborating and organizing workshops in educational and social centers.
As in previous editions, the SolidarizARTE project combines solidarity with art. This year the illustrated design on the products is by the artist Xavi García, an activist from Monóvar (Alicante) against sexist violence.
The work donated by García represents a girl with open arms as a symbol of women's continuous fight against gender violence. This new edition of SolidarizARTE promotes achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls, as set out in point number five of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the European Union, principles that the shipping company Baleària has taken as a roadmap in his actions for years.
In this way, the Foundation Baleària It also contributes to promoting and giving visibility to artistic creation and cultural dissemination, as it has done in previous years with the artists Doralice Souza (Ibiza), Joan Pascual Roca (Mallorca) and Ana Politakis (Dénia). The Matria association joins the list of non-profit entities that have participated in this initiative of the Baleària Foundation, among them, Save The Children Melilla, the Spanish Alzheimer's Federation and the Association for Pro-Psychic Deficiencies of Dénia and the Marina Alta.
It should be noted that this project has been launched thanks to the group of corporate volunteers from the Baleària Foundation. The price is 10 euros for the bag, 7 euros for the cup, 7 euros for the computer mouse mat and 3 euros for A4 sheets and 2 euros for A5 sheets.
