They rescue a dog tied and abandoned in a booth next to the TRAM tracks in Dénia

08 October 2023 - 20: 42

The Environmental Unit of the Dénia Local Police has carried out the rescue of a dog, possibly a mastiff breed, this Sunday afternoon. The animal showed obvious signs of neglect and abandonment, presenting a very delicate physical condition.

The police acted after a phone call from a citizen concerned about the well-being of the dog, which was outside a booth located next to the TRAM tracks. The animal was tied with a cable and a noose that tightened its neck, causing it to suffocate. In the absence of a person responsible for the dog at the scene, members of the Environmental Unit had to intervene immediately to cut the cable and free the animal.

Once rescued, the dog has been transferred by staff from the Animal Protection Association to a veterinary clinic to receive appropriate medical care due to its compromised health status.

Citizen collaboration has played a fundamental role in this rescue. The Local Police have expressed their gratitude for the community's involvement, highlighting that these citizen complaints are essential to provide a quick and effective response in resolving similar situations.

An investigation is currently underway to locate and identify the dog's owner. Depending on the results of veterinary analyzes and tests, this person could face charges of animal abuse.

In small towns there are dogs totally neglected and they cry day and night. And people do not care. and people go to town halls and their wash their hands telling others they can't do anything so Sad there is very little care for animals in Spain
