What is 'Black Friday' and why has it gone 'crazy' to the merchants of Dénia?

November 28 from 2014 - 08: 10

Today is 'Black Friday'. Surely you have noticed because in recent days, the shops of the city announce with great fanfare the arrival of this day with discounts on their products so that you anticipate the arrival of the Christmas. But ... where does this day come from and what is its goal?

El Black Friday born in America, as almost everything we import in recent years. This is the day's sales throughout the year in the country, as Americans advance their Christmas shopping by taking advantage of discounts, offers and promotions that shops offer.

Black Friday

El Black Friday It is celebrated on the fourth Friday of November, coinciding with the celebration, last Thursday, the day of Thanksgiving holiday in the country. It is the day that opens the Christmas shopping and, although officially it is not a holiday, many companies give their employees free and increasing spending significantly during that day.

Its name comes from the change in the 'color' of the accounts of the shops, which go from being in red numbers to being in surplus and 'painting' of nergro (black) color.

In Spain we have imported the celebration of this day not many years ago, and now trades for several days lengthen it -from Thursday to Saturday- offering discounts of 20% on average in their products, and expand its opening hours .

Today, in Dénia and the Marina Alta also we can enjoy discounts Black Friday, since there are many, and more and more, the shops that sign up for this initiative to check its operation and encourage sales in a few years in which they have decreased considerably. So we have only to add that ... Happy Black Friday!
